Many women physicians are stressed, struggling, feeling stuck or even a little burned out.
They appear accomplished and successful on the outside but are just not enjoying things on the inside.
It’s one thing to be a physician. It’s another thing to know HOW to actually do it in a way that is sustainable, joyful and rewarding.
The truth is, it’s entirely possible to love your life in and outside of Medicine.
We are smart, accomplished women who do hard things. It’s not too much to expect to enjoy the life we have worked so hard to create. We can do this too.
The problem is what got us here is not going to get us there. We’ve never been taught anything about creating a joyful, balanced life well-lived. Until now.
What’s keeping you from living your best life?
If you are like most women in medicine, it’s just not something that we have had “permission” to talk about or the bandwidth to think about.
In fact, it’s been exactly the opposite! We have been focused on everyone else’s needs at home and at work. And when we do set a boundary or carve out some “me” time, it can feel a bit selfish.
So many doctors tell me
And then the floodgates open.
I get it. And, if this is you, you are not alone.
Other physicians tell me:
I jumped right into studying and then work. And it was a blast! I’ve been caring for patients my entire adult life. I’m smart and love helping others. It never really occurred to me that I was at risk for burnout. Until I felt utterly spent.
Fast forward to today…
I’m a practicing pediatrician, Director of the Institute for Physician Wellness and mom to two teens. I am empowered to decide how I spend my time and talents. I cannot control all the circumstances in life but I can 100% decide how I show up for it all. And I design my life in alignment with my values, interests and priorities at this stage.
None of this would be possible without the skills and practices I have learned over the decades.
It is my great joy to support other women physicians so that they can LOVE their lives, too. In and outside of Medicine.
Evidence-based Practices + Live Support + Community
The Anti-Burnout Program is for every woman physician who is serious about making changes in their life to feel better.
The Anti-Burnout Program is a good fit for you if:
What else is possible?
How would it feel to be free from the stress and overwhelm?
To live in full alignment with what matters most to you at this stage of your life?
This program is designed to support your growth and learning at a pace that fits your busy lifestyle. The pre-recorded core modules are yours to keep and explore at any time. The supplemental coaching and guest speaker sessions are entirely optional. If you choose to attend, you can plan on averaging an additional 1-2 hours per week.
We’ve got you! Audio and video recordings will be uploaded into the portal within 24 hours for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Coaching sessions are entirely optional. You get to decide whether to speak and how much. Most physicians find the group coaching sessions immensely helpful even if they are just there to listen and learn.
The pre-recorded modules are yours to keep for a lifetime. Access to the additional support including the group coaching sessions, guest speakers and program portal is for one year.
Who am I?
Like you, I wear a lot of hats and know what it is like to have a lot going on. You will find I have a very grounded, trauma-informed approach, blending teachings from my broad background in addition to my certification as a coach.
In 2016, I founded The Institute for Physician Wellness to bring women physicians together to learn, heal, grow and connect. Since then, my team and I have supported thousands of physicians across the US and Canada on their path to well-being.
My first career was in Physical Therapy, which I practiced for 13 years prior to entering Medicine. My curious brain led me to graduate school in Philosophy. I have studied mind-body health and various mindfulness practices for over 30 years. Most recently, I have enjoyed mindfulness teacher training with leaders in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC).
I started medical school at age 35 and shortly thereafter became a mom to my two beautiful boys. I hope to keep practicing Pediatrics for a very long time.
In my free time, you will find me enjoying the great outdoors with family, friends, and our adorable Golden Retriever.
